Smile2008 PET IDOL CONTEST NOW UNDERWAY

Our Third Annual Pet Idol Contest is now offically underway.

Any animal is elgible to be entered. Owners must be a resident of the state of Kentucky. Entry is free and fun. Just send a quality color photograph of your favorite pet along with an entry form. Entry forms can be picked up at the Green River Animal Shelter or the Adair Progress Newspaper office on Grant Lane in Columbia..

Entries will be  accepted until September 19 at noon. Voting will begin at this time. Votes are just 25 cents each. The animal garnering the most votes during the contest will be featured on the cover of our calendar for 2009. The top twelve vote earners will be featured as montly favorites in the calendar. ALL ANIMALS ENTERED IN THE CONTEST WILL BE IN THE CALENDAR!

All monies raised by the contest will be used to make improvements at the shelter.This money does not go toward our operating budget. It is strictly used to benefit the animals. Plans this year call for a 30 x 30 fenced play area where potentional adopters can "Test drive" an animal before adopting it.

Just drag out that camera and snap a cute and cuddly picture. Your buddy may just be the next Adair County Pet Idol.
